There are two models of chargeback: prepaid and post-paid. Prepaid model works very well when we need to keep IT budget under strict control, while post-paid offers users a carte blanche.

ARCHITECTURE

CloudOval provides the tools and technologies to abstract the underlying infrastructure in an easy and standardized consumption model. CloudOval use OpenStack which sits on virtual or physical Compute, Network and Storage technologies and provides the APIs and tools to access these resources in an agile and programmatic manner. CloudOval interfaces with the underlying infrastructure through open source or vendorprovided drivers. This standardized abstraction helps prevent customers from being locked into a specific technology or tool. CloudOval provides additional services such as identity management, orchestration, and metering.

Our solution uses open source software and standard x86 infrastructure components. That gives us an advantage with worldwide innovative contributions from the open source community. That means no vendor lock-in for you.

We deliver OpenStack as a managed service in your data center or other location of your choice supporting you with software, hardware and network orchestration challenges.

Fast and easy way

You can have a private cloud up and running in days, not in weeks or months. You can use your existing infrastructure or build a new environment.

OpenStack is not a hypervisor, but it supports several hypervisors through an abstraction layer. The software supports popular commercial and open source hypervisors including vSphere ESXi as well as KVM, Xen, QEMU and Hyper-V.

CloudOval is used as the control plane to manage a multi-hypervisor cloud, running both vSphere and KVM or other. This approach provides common, self-service provisioning and API access. It consolidates cloud management while allowing applications to be hosted on the environment best suited for them. For example, users can run a three-tier legacy application using a database backend such as Oracle on vSphere, and web-scale applications, such as MongoDB on KVM.

Reduce IT costs

CloudOval uses standard x86 infrastructure, latest OpenStack distributions and supports hypervisors of your choice. CloudOval gives you many options for implementation – architecture can be simple and inexpensive when you use bare metal servers with Linux, or can provide advanced functionality if you combine it with third party solutions like Suse Cloud and Suse Studio. Building hybrid clouds with CloudOval is easy if you configure a few zones with OpenStack in different locations.
